Church Garden Fete, 11 June

23/5/2017

On Sunday, 11 June, 2-4.30pm, we'll hold our Church Garden Fete in the Manse Garden in Gifford (or in Gifford Village Hall, if it's wet).

Come along for coffees, teas and delicious homebaking, and for sweets, ice cream and Pimms. There'll be games, music, a raffle, a plant sale and much more.

This year, we'll have again a children's competition: draw a picture, or build a model of one of our churches, and bring it along!

We look forward to seeing you there!

Our next Messy Church will be on Pentecost Sunday, 4 June, from 4 to 6pm, in Humbie Village Hall.

We'll be thinking about the events of Pentecost, have many crafts around this birthday of the church, and will, as usual, have a song and a shared meal for the children.

All children need to be accompanied by an adult. We look forward to seeing you there!

With live music, arts, exhibitions, and open-air worship at the Ross band stand it promises to become once more a memorable event to celebrate all aspects of the life of the Church of Scotland.
There will be opportunities to learn and explore about the different areas of the national Church's work, such as World Mission, Church and Society, and Ministries, as well as having conversations with people from lots of different parishes from all over Scotland.

Come and enjoy music, art, coffees and teas, and lots of fun!

Christian Aid Week, 14-20 May

1/5/2017

Picture
From 14-20 May, it's Christian Aid Week again - and this year it's celebrating its 60th Anniversary!

There's a lot going on during the week: with collections, and lots of events, such as the Christian Aid booksales in Edinburgh. There are three this year: the very big one at St Andrews and St George West Church in George St, and smaller ones at Holy Corner and at the Methodist Church on Nicolson Square. You can find a full list of events in Scotland here.

And two of our elders, Morag and Frank, have once more done the Forth Bridge crossing in support of Christian Aid - well done, you too - and thank you to all who sponsored and supported you!

Find out more about the week, and about Christian Aid's work, here.
