Christmas Shoebox Appeal

28/9/2017

Picture
Once again, we're participating in the Blythswood Christmas Shoe Box Appeal this year. A leaflet with more information on what is needed can be picked up from the churches, or downloaded here. If you would like to fill a box, please bring it to any of the churches by 5 November. Any donations will be greatly appreciated by those in need!

Reopening of Saltoun Church

25/9/2017

This coming Sunday, 1 October, Saltoun Church will be reopened with our Harvest Thanksgiving Service at 11am, during which the church will be rededicated. It has been closed for nearly two years, since part of the ceiling in the sanctuary collapsed. After extensive surveys, much work has been done to repair the damage and redecorate the church, and we are very glad to be able to worship there again.
The work would not have been possible without many very generous donations from church members and the local community - thank you to all who have contributed to the fundraising. Not all costs have been covered yet, and the fundraising is ongoing for a little while longer - with a ceilidh to come in November, and Christmas Cards with the Nativity window in Saltoun Church soon available for sale.

We hope to welcome very many of you on Sunday, for the reopening - please come and see how beautiful the church is!

Messy Church 1 October

25/9/2017

On Sunday, 1 October, we'll have our next Messy Church - 4-6pm in Gifford Village Hall!

We'll be thinking about Creation - and about how the Bible stories and scientific findings complement each other.

We'll have plenty of crafts, music, a story and then a shared meal for the children - all children are very welcome, and should bring an adult.

We look forward to seeing you on Sunday!

Our newsletter editor, Margaret Wyllie, is now stepping down after years of dedicated and very helpful service - thank you so much for all your work!
