On Remembrance Sunday, 11 November, we will hold two morning services. In Gifford, we will gather at 10.50am at the War Memorial in front of the church for an Act of Remembrance, followed by a Remembrance Service in Yester Church. The service will be led by the Rev John Smith, and the Gifford Cubs, the Gifford Brownies and the Pencaitland Guides will take part.
In Bolton, we will gather also at 10.50am in the church for an Act of Remembrance, which will be followed by a Remembrance Service led by the Rev Anikó Schütz Bradwell.
All are warmly invited to participate.
And at 12.30pm, we'll ring our church bells at all three churches - they will ring alongside church bells all around the country, to mark the 100th anniversary of the Armistice.
Our next Evening Service will be held on Wednesday, 7 November, at 7pm in Humbie Church. In it, we'll reflect on the story of St Martin of Tours, and get to know the German tradition of lantern and candle processions around his feast day. The service will be quieter and more reflective than our traditional Sunday morning services. Everybody is warmly invited!
